Challenge
To maintain efficiency of Humidification Systems at a large Pharmaceutical Company and save money on Deionization (DI) exchange costs.
Solution
Research customer needs, design and install Reverse Osmosis (RO) System with the proper flow rate in lieu of existing DI exchange tanks.
Results
Reverse Osmosis (RO) System paid for itself in one year, due to higher efficiency and lower operational costs.
Challenge
To reduce or eliminate high levels of hardness and iron in the area well water. Complaints from the staff, parents, and students add to the stressful situation for maintenance personnel.
Solution
Flier’s technicians performed a walk-through of all the schools in the district and fixed the more obvious mechanical issues. Then identified procedural and maintenance improvements to help maintenance crews moving forward, along with formal preventative maintenance plans.
Results
All schools now have consistent, treated water, and complaints from all sources have reduced.
Challenge
A dialysis provider is having bacteria count issues with older, traditional single patient reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
Solution
Flier’s provided a heat sanitizable single patient RO system to replace original older systems.
Results
Bacteria and endo toxin levels are non-detectable now with the new systems. Nursing personnel love the ease-of-use and low maintenance requirements of the new system. It was a win-win for both the staff and patients.
Challenge
Supply a Reverse Osmosis purified water system to a paint manufacturer in an intrinsically safe area (explosion-proof) with limited space and achieve it without expanding their facilities.
Solution
Flier’s installed custom-engineered reverse osmosis system with XP (explosion proof) motors, controls, and other components.
Results
Flier’s saved the customer considerable amounts of time, money and inconvenience, by not having to undertake a building expansion, and meeting the construction timeline by being able to use the existing space.
Challenge
Frequent deionization tank exchanges became a nuisance to a large pharmaceutical company. They were frequently requesting tank exchanges, due to issues with leaks and non-sanitary connectors. In addition, lengthy SOPs and testing protocol needed to be implemented each time, before the newly installed tanks could be used.
Solution
Flier’s installed sanitary continuous chemical-free electrodeionization modules which never need to be exchanged and continuously create ultrapure water.
Results
Our customer now enjoys an uninterrupted supply of deionized water without waiting for change outs or SOP criteria to be met before they can resume production. All connections in the piping are sanitary which has reduced micro issues, along with large reductions in down time.
Challenge
A customer with a high-end lake-front home had water with a foul taste and smell, low water pressure, iron bleed which caused black & red staining on all fixtures and dish washer. Their existing chemical iron-filter leaked, their water softener was plugged up, and their backwashable carbon filter wasn’t removing the unpleasant odor and taste, but was robbing their water pressure.
Solution
The solution was to install a new, less complicated water sanitizer system, that softens water using the latest technology, and removes up to 10 parts per million of iron.
Results
With one piece of equipment, instead of three, the unpleasant iron smell and taste is gone, the water is softened, the household water pressure has increased by 25 psi, and there has been a reduction of several hundred gallons per week of waste-water to the septic system.

Challenge
Improve the quality of rinse water used in the paint-process at a large Furniture Manufacturer and decrease waste water to local municipality.
Solution
Upgraded to a new high efficiency Reverse Osmosis (RO) System.
Results
Lower water volume used for parts rinsing. Increased water recovery achieved less waste and substantial municipal sewage cost-savings.
Challenge
Increase efficiency of boiler at Food Cannery to save money on gas and water expenses.
Solution
Install a Reverse Osmosis (RO) System is lieu of existing water softeners.
Results
Cycles of concentration were increased, and Boiler Blowdown were minimized enough, so the natural gas savings alone achieved a 2-year payback on the RO System investment.
Challenge
Improve water treatment equipment in a Hospital Dialysis Treatment Center.
Solution
Install upgraded water treatment equipment to meet the higher standards for hemodialysis.
Results
New higher efficiency water treatment system supplies ultra pure water for dialysis patients, with less down-time and lower maintenance costs.
